Founded in 1989, the Japanese Tourism Council (formally Japanese Inbound Association of Melbourne) is an independent organisation, which focuses on the Japanese Tourism market in Australia.

The core role of the council is to:

  • Provide a forum for Inbound Tour Operators.
  • Provide network opportunities for product.
  • Provide a link between Inbound Tour Operators and Australian product.
  • Provide leadership for the industry.
  • Provide members with information, support and education aimed at improving their understanding of the Japanese Inbound Tourism industry.
  • Provide a united voice to Government on local issues affecting the Japanese Inbound Tourism market.

To promote and increase the number of Japanese Inbound tourists to Australia, and to maximise inbound opportunities for members.
